George Weinlaender - New General Manager

Mr. Georg Weinlaender, 49, assumes responsibility as General Manager of the distinguished Grand Hotel Wien effective October 25th 2002.

The 5-star luxury 205 room hotel situated on the famed Ringstrasse in the heart of Vienna is the crown jewel for the international hotel group JJW Hotels & Resorts' growing portfolio of hotels. The firm recently acquired the Grand Hotel Wien from Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA). The Grand Hotel Wien is only the second hotel in Vienna to be welcomed into the prestigious "Leading Hotels of the World" family.

Mr. Weinlaender, an Austrian native, returns to Vienna after 20 years of foreign assignment. He brings a plethora of expertise and hotel know-how to The Grand Hotel Wien. As a premier hotelier he has criss-crossed the globe heading international 5-star hotel properties on 4 continents. He began his career in 1971 and spent the early apprenticeship training period in Vienna, Paris and London. A long professional association with the Hilton organization beginning in 1977 with the Vienna Hilton with stops in Kuwait, Nigeria, Germany, Cameroon, Madagascar and Canada emerging as a final Hilton destination with the Hilton Tobago in Trinidad and Tobago.

As Mr. Weinlaender explains, "It is with great pleasure that I return to my beloved homeland after a near twenty year hiatus. Georg Weinlaender is the father of a 12 year-old daughter and a 14 year-old son. He enjoys playing tennis, skiing and diving. He is member of the Global Hotelier«s Club. Furthermore, he was awarded the corp-title "Knight of the National Order of Madagascar" for his active participation in addressing the socio-economic issue in the country, supporting and advising the government in methods to improve tourism industry training.
