Story of The Grand Hotel Wien
The legendary Grand Hotel was built in the 1860s according to the plans of Carl Tietz, the celebrated architect of the period and opened in 1870 as the first Grand Hotel in Europe. The era was noted for the charm and elegance of the "K and K" (Imperial and Royal) Monarchy, and by a city dancing in three-quarter time to the music of the Strauss family.
IAEA (International Atomic Energy) Headquarters
After many years of success, the Grand Hotel was closed and used as the headquarters of the IAEA (International Atomic Energy). In 1989, the building was bought by All Nippon Airways. The building was re-planned and totally renovated to re-open in new splendour as a 5 -Star de Luxe Hotel.
JJW Hotels & Resorts
